Arizona Department of Revenue Location Code Changes

Avalara is working diligently to incorporate July 1 changes in sales tax reporting and related tax forms for the Arizona Department of Revenue (DOR).

You have an important review step to complete, detailed below, to ensure that your account meets the new AZ requirements.

Single AZ Registered Location with 001 Location Code
If you have only one business location registered with the AZ DOR, and it will file under a single location code of 001 (either in-state or out-of-state), there is no further action required by you. Avalara has updated your tax form to the TPT-2 form on your behalf. All taxes will be filed under the 001 location code.

Multiple AZ Registered Locations
If your single business location code is not 001, or you have more than one business location registered with the AZ DOR, you need to take action to update your Avalara Returns account settings in the Avalara Admin Console to support these changes. If you do not update your account settings, your returns may not be correct, and your company could be subject to notices along with penalties and interest. Please read our instructions to learn what you need to do.

In accordance with new requirements, Avalara has updated your form(s) for June 2016 filing period forward. The changes that impact you are related to the AZ business locations for your company that you have registered. Following are guidelines that will help you determine what actions you may need to take. If you need to take these actions, you should do so immediately to ensure your filing is correct.
